Thomas Païta joined Bootlin’s Lyon office in June 2026 as an Embedded Linux & Zephyr engineer.
Thomas graduated from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC), where he specialized in embedded systems. During his studies, he completed an internship focused on object tracking using correlation filters.
Thomas started his career in embedded software at Sagemcom, where he worked on the bring-up of Qualcomm-based (IPQ807x) Internet gateways. His work involved developing custom embedded Linux systems with Buildroot, implementing Linux drivers, developing test scripts, and enabling secure boot. He also contributed to the development of FreeRTOS firmware for MSP430 and STM32 microcontrollers, together with the associated Linux I²C driver.
He then follows an opportunity in the NewSpace industry, where he worked on Rust softwares, Data Distribution Service (DDS) and a test bench software (C++/QML).
Finally, he joined Bootlin with the desire to contribute to open-source projects and further develop his expertise in Embedded Linux and Zephyr.
