| 3/25/2021 18:05:21 | 3 | The course provided a solid foundation for me to build on via learning on my own. | 4 | 5 | Maxime is an excellent instructor. The course was well-paced, and he always made time for us to ask questions. | 5 | 5 | 5 | 9 | 5 | BSP package development and device tree | 4 | The labs reinforced the material covered very well. Maxime was very patient, and he went through the material at a good pace. | It was difficult to follow along with the lab sometimes because the training was virtual. I don't know how this could be improved in a virtual setting. Fortunately, Maxime offered to answer questions via email. | Availability of online sessions, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Language | Internet search engines | Build environment support, Technical support | We may be interested in hiring Bootlin for short-term consulting to help us with our build environment. | 4 | I tried my best to follow along with the labs in real time, but it wasn't always possible. Thankfully, Maxime offered to answer questions via email. | 3 | 5
| 3/25/2021 18:09:36 | 2 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 3 | My answer is only 3 as I am mostly a backend engineer that sometimes have to work on embedded devices. When working on embedded devices, the things learned during this course will definitely help me | 9 | 3 | 5 | A few of the advanced topics which I may not use in the future | Open training materials that can be checked in advance, I attented a talk at Capitole du Libre and the talker from Bootlin seemed competent on these topics | Presentations in conferences | Not interested | Right now not interested. This will depends if we manage to apply the learned skills correctly or not. | 3 | As I had already used Yocto, the first labs were not very useful. But they are required for complete beginners | 3 | 5

| 3/25/2021 18:51:38 | 3 | The course is short and goes fast. The Yocto product itself is difficult | 2 | This is not the most important | Very good instructor | 5 | Labs are very important. May be it goes too fast | 5 | 5 | 5 | 10 | 5 | Linux Kernel or Embedded Linux, security | 4 | All labs and all parts dealing with the Yocto fundamental part (layers, recipe ...) | The lats part because it goes fast but it is useful anyway. | Availability of online sessions, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Cost | Presentations in conferences | Cannot say. Can be anything depending on our charge | 5 | 2 | It is necessary to slow down. It can be hard to follow what is being done by operator. | 5
| 3/25/2021 19:02:55 | 2 | high pace courses, need much time to assimilate and to practice labs. Remote courses sessions are not really appropriate to train. | 4 | material as a meaning of content, subject matter, i will say yes but no as a meaning of equipment, as we were in remote session. | top level | 5 | a real added value, digging into some aspect | 4 | too short in my opinion | 5 | 4 | 9 | 3 | not for the moment | 4 | labs, the recipes and layers parts | Some too high level technical chapters for me | the matching between the training and our needs, the fast training availability, bootlin reputation | good feedback from some of our workmate about some technical conventions, and also the web | Not interested, not for the moment | 4 | good but what a pity that we were in remote session | 5 | 5
| 3/25/2021 19:15:03 | 4 | The sessions were generally pretty long, but I felt as though almost all of the information was useful and necessary. Even remotely, the labs helped break up the main content of learning from the slides. | This course gave me a great overview of how to use yocto and how to approach the workflow of our particular use case. I will have to continue my learning of yocto, but I feel as though I have the tools to be able to look in the correct places. | 4 | It's hard to evaluate how good the training materials were in comparison to a real life use case with yocto, but the lab materials supplemented the slides very well and the objectives of each lab were very clear. The labs built upon each other in a logical way, and Maxime would usually signal when we were starting out with a non best practice for demonstration purposes. | Maxime was an excellent instructor and it was clear that his knowledge surrounding Yocto and Embedded Linux was quite deep. He was always able to give a clear answer to any questions. | 5 | Maxime added a lot to the lectures and greatly aided my understanding of yocto. I could always hear and understand him very clearly. A few of the advanced topics at the end ended up being a bit rushed, but that is understandable since they may be rarely encountered with our own projects. | 5 | The schedule was appropriate, and the timing meant that we could participate even in the United States which we were thankful for. | 5 | I felt like coming in I had a very minimal understanding of yocto and just some minor background on embedded linux, but now I feel confident helping with generating our own yocto images and recipes at our company. | 3 | My position wouldn't necessarily call for me to always work on yocto builds or maintaining the layers, but it will be useful as we develop our specialized image and training others to understand the yocto ecosystem. | 10 | I was very impressed with the presentation and the free availability of the information. | 4 | 5 | Day 3 of the training brought together a lot of the basics that we learned about yocto in the first two days of the training. I felt like I had a decent grasp on what we were learning about in the labs at that point. | Probably the very end where we learned about the advanced concepts. Some were interesting, but some felt like they were a bit too complicated in regard to our company's project. Though I appreciated hearing more information about them. | Availability of online sessions, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Language | Internet search engines | Development of real-time systems, Technical support, Technology and architecture consulting | 4 | Since the training was remote most of the practical demo work was best done outside of the sessions, which made it a little difficult. I do appreciate that during Maxime's execution of the labs we had to do some light debugging on some issues that we may encounter while doing them. | 4 | For the remote session, I would say it was just about right. The nature of the labs was executing a lot of different commands which was a bit jarring at first, and hindsight maybe we would spend a bit more time on the earlier labs to explain the commands being run in what location. | 5
| 3/25/2021 21:11:24 | 2 | Maybe 2 breaks instead of 1 for a 4h online daily session could help us to keep concentrated. | The only drawback is that an online session is less participative than an public session. But it's covid time ... :-( | 5 | Like my previous bootlin learning session, your materials are well done. | He answered to "sniper's question" very well ! | 4 | same as previous comment | 3 | 5 | As I was a yocto noob, I learn a lot ! | 4 | 8 | You could propose a common communication chanel to everyone (participants & teacher) for the complete training period and few days after. To facilitate exchanges betweens participants. | 5 | Buildroot & Linux Kernel and Drivers (I already use your materials for improve myself ... but a real learning session would definitively be better) | 4 | The recipes & layers | none But the main drawback of these online session is the poor exchange between participants ... | Trainer, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Language | Internet search engines | Not yet, but may be later ... | 4 | They were very useful. Improvement: use an up to date yocto release (compatible with latest linux distribution : ubuntu 20.04). | 3 | To redo the labs on my own the following mornings was helpfull. | 4

| 3/26/2021 12:06:11 | 5 | Good duration | For me as a beginner it was a good way to start into the Yocto Project. In the last lesson it was hard to follow, but was still usefull to get an complete overview over the project. | 5 | Very good | 5 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 9 | 5 | Kernel programming and buildroot will be also interesting for me | 4 | labs | at the last slide my concetration was gone, because the yocto project is so big. | Availability of online sessions, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Access to full feedback from participants to previous sessions, Cost | Course recommended by previous participants | Not interested | 5 | 5 | 5 |
