| 5/14/2020 18:01:23 | 2 | It is some times too quick to understand and assimilate a lot of information but in general it's good. We need just after the training to practice a lot ^^ | Really good training to begin with embedded linux and kernel. | 5 | 4 | 4 | 5 | Thanks a lot ^^ | 5 | 9 | 5 | I am already doing Kernel development | 5 | I find all parts are pretty good to know especially for some one who didn't know a lot like me ! | Availability of online sessions, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Cost, Recommendation of a colleague who did the training before. | Course recommended by previous participants | Actually we work with another German company for the actual product. But definitely, for futur projects I will suggest you to my company. | 5 | More details (even it is well detailed but for inexperienced is useful) | 3 | I just suggest to let students more time to test by their own selves. I understand that adds more time on the training but it ensures that they really understand. | 4
| 5/14/2020 18:01:43 | 3 | Would be nice to have some coverage on how to get Linux working on PCBs that aren't supported by the mainline kernel - making a simple device tree, modifying U-Boot, etc. | 5 | Good to see how to look for answers to questions where you don't just know the answer. | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 10 | 5 | Very interested in the Yocto course | 4 | The Busybox labs where Linux finally boots to a command line | It was all good. Generally we use microcontrollers for real-time work so the section on getting Linux to do real-time work was maybe less relevant for me. | Availability of online sessions, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Language, The course dates were convenient | Internet search engines | Not interested | I'd find a course on BSP development very interesting | 5 | I'm still only part-way through doing the labs myself, but they are going well so far. | 3 | They help to break up the presentation nicely. | 5
| 5/14/2020 18:13:41 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 3 | 4 | 4 | 8 | It could be interesting to suggest a development kit (optional) to carry out the practices | 4 | Yes, low power for example | 4 | kernel and bootloaders | block filesystems | Not applicable - My management made the decision | Internet search engines | Power management, Development of real-time systems | 3 | 4 | It is hard to follow the practical demos without hardware. It could be interesting to have a virtual machine for some of them. | 5
| 5/14/2020 18:24:15 | 4 | 5 | Bootlin provides probably the best materials on the topic available for free. As a suggestion, I'd like to see a more detailed document like a book for instance. An open book ofc! | A Linux Warrior! | 5 | 4 | 5 | 4 | 9 | I will recommend the course to my colleagues. | 4 | Of the existing ones I could see myself joining the kernel training. I would also like to see a hardware design traning for electronics designers. | 5 | Compiling and running U-Boot, the kernel and filesystems (block and flash). It was great to see how all the steps worked together. | I didn't find the lecture about open-source components and applications that interesting because I am more interested in the architecture design. Moreover, since the application can be written in many different languages, having one dedicate lecture about cross compiling C applications was out of my area of interest. In my particular case, the introduction was a bit too long because I already had some prior experience, but the quality was good anyway. | Availability of online sessions, Trainer, Open training materials that can be checked in advance | Technical resources on the Bootlin website | Technical support, Bug fixing, Technology and architecture consulting | 2 | I really missed doing the demos by myself. | 2 | Sometimes it was hard to follow what was happening on each console tab. Altough I could follow the demos, I would slow down a little bit for less experienced people. | 5
| 5/14/2020 18:32:28 | 3 | The duration is fine, the instructor takes time to explains things correctly and to answer the questions. | Nothing to say here | 4 | They are really usefull to understand the subject and we can read them again later if we have trouble to understand something | He can answer a lot of questions and he know were to search when he doesn't have the answer | 5 | It definitly helps to have someone explaining the subjects and answering the questons | 5 | I have nothing to say about that, things go gradually so we can understand everything based on what we have seen before | 4 | There are some things I already know but it interessting to see them again and to learn new things at the same time | 4 | It will be really usefull because it explains a lot of important things when building an embedded system | 9 | Because nothing is perfect | 4 | I think I will look at the linux kernel development training | 5 | The realtime part is I think the one I like the most, maybe because it's something that I find really interesting | The part were we build all the system with buildroot and the applications is maybe the one I like the least but it's also a really important part. | Availability of online sessions, Trainer, Open training materials that can be checked in advance | Internet search engines | Not interested | 5 | It helps to understand the concepts of the course | 3 | The time dedicated to the demos is good, enough to understand and not too much so we don't get bored watching it | 4
| 5/14/2020 18:36:29 | 3 | The duration was proporcionate to the material | The course was good but maybe was better if a virtual machine was provide to make the lab in remote. | 4 | The documentation is clear | Michael has good knowledge about embedded linux. He is a good trainner | 4 | 4 | 5 | 5 | 8 | 3 | 4 | bootloaders and all the informattion about filesysteemss | NA | Not applicable - My management made the decision | Bootlin chosen by my management | Linux board support package development | 2 | I don't like very much see as other people makes a practice, I think is more useful if I can do it during the training. I think that this is the point to improve for next remote trainings | 3 | The time dedicated is good, but it will be better if we can do the practice in remote | 4
| 5/14/2020 18:36:54 | 3 | some sessions were needed to take more time or its labs like bootloader and file systems | 4 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 4 | 8 | 5 | 5 | theoretical parts | Not applicable - My management made the decision | Bootlin chosen by my management | need to try it in an application project and see if there's knowledge that i need | thanks for your teaching | 3 | need at least a virtual HW to give it a try (qemu) | 3 | 5
| 5/14/2020 18:38:02 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 2 | 5 | 5 | 9 | 5 | 4 | Quality of the training | Presentations in conferences | Technical support | 4 | 4 | 5
| 5/14/2020 18:49:11 | 3 | The course is really relevant if you want to learn about the basics to build a Linux System. Having dabbled with embedded linux prior to the course really helps to have a better grasp of the content | 4 | The lectures were useful, unfortunately the conditions of online sessions didn't allow the participants to do the labs as no QEMU was set yet | Geat knowledge and motivation from the instructor | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 8 | Improving the labs part should raise this rating to 10 for me | 5 | 5 | All the really low-level parts : Cross-toolchain generation, system image generation with bootloader and kernel compilation, explanation about filesystems and memory devices... | Application-level parts, because I could not relate as much as I could with the low-level ones | Availability of online sessions, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Access to full feedback from participants to previous sessions | Technical resources on the Bootlin website | Linux board support package development, Boot time reduction, Development of real-time systems, Build environment support, Root filesystem development, Technology and architecture consulting | 2 | Unfortunately the conditions of online sessions didn't allow the participants to do the labs as no QEMU was set yet. I felt a little loss during some of the labs because the instructor went fast and I didn't have the practical aspect to compensate by applying the demos content. | 2 | We could not finish the last lab | 5 |
