3 | 4/20/2018 16:37:40 | 3 | I was particularly interested in how-to include my own packages into the rootfs. This is something one can do doing reverse engineering and spending an unpredictable amount of time. Having it condensed and presented by instructor makes a work much easier. Hands on labs were on spot! Kudos. | 5 | Training material was quite good. Labs are perfect, and one can learn beyond the objective of course. | 4 | I liked the instructor. Friendly and knowledgeable. Good at making and understanding jokes as well :) | 5 | Instructor's experience is at the end somewhat transfered to the attendees. Only materials are definitely not enough, because it would not keep attention. He managed to stress the real important things. | 5 | 5 | 5 | I had some precious experience with the Buildroot and Yocto as to modify rootfs. I find it of a high value that I learned how to add packages. | 3 | 5 | 5 | All but the this one that I attended. It is fun, you definitely learn a lot. | 5 | Practical labs. | Slides about variables :) | Open training materials that can be checked in advance | Technical resources on the Bootlin website | Not interested | Keep it that way. | 5 | Awesome. | 3 | 3 | 5 | It is nice to have printed materials in order to make comments, and to easier refresh someones memory with the comments along the content.
4 | 4/20/2018 16:38:59 | 2 | Could be longer | The courses on build systems are detailed and hands on. Sometimes they could be hard from time to time - but it is a hard topic after all | 4 | Not too much detail just the right amount of details not to spoil exercises. | 2 | + he was more than eager to share it. | 5 | I liked that at a times we could discuss interesting topic in much detail. | 4 | 3 | Being it a onsight course there is a bit of our fault on not going stricter about agenda | 3 | At this point it is a ton of new information so I feel like I learned but I will have to see how it settles in my head | 3 | Currently not, generally i hope that yes. | 7 | 5 | 5 | Labs | Non technical legal stuff like licencing but I see it as necessary part of big picture | Availability for on-site sessions, Open training materials that can be checked in advance | Previous course in kernel dev | Boot time reduction, Power management, Development of real-time systems, On-site engineering | Just right - sometimes left me hanging for that tiny bit longer which got me to solution on my own, or gave me enough hint on where to look. | 5 | I think they are the center point of course | just right | 4 | 3 | just right | 5 | I used links provided on site.
5 | 4/20/2018 16:44:19 | 4 | Yocto and Buildroot courses were combined as a single 5 day course. Single ones were fine, but 5 consecutive days of build systems is maybe a bit too long. | A relatively quick introduction to the build systems was expected (no previous experience there). | 5 | 4 | 5 | I would say that the lecture material contains around a third of course value. The rest was added up by the instructor. | 5 | 5 | 5 | 3 | 7 | 4 | Linux kernel and driver development. | 5 | Availability for on-site sessions, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Cost | Technical resources on the Bootlin website | Not interested | Yes, no complaints at all. Not only helping when stuck, but adding value (same remark as for the value to the lecture materials). | 5 | Like that the labs don't give away the ready solution, but require the application of knowledge collected during the lectures. | 3 | 2 | 5 | Primary uses of printed materials: 1. Reviewing covered ground after the daily workshop. 2. Making side notes from things heard during lecture/lab. 3. A cheat-sheet for labs. 4. More convenient to shuffle through the paper printout during the lecture.
6 | 4/20/2018 17:32:21 | 3 | For the current curriculum plan, it's perfectly synced and organized. | 5 | The main point of the course are the training materials. | 4 | On the spot every time. | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 4 | 7 | 5 | 5 | Availability for on-site sessions, Trainer, Open training materials that can be checked in advance | Presentations in conferences | Not interested | More good training materials related to linux development. | 5 | 3 | 3 | 5 | It's more convenient to keep track of presentation and highlight the important parts with printed materials. Maybe a questionnaire can be sent before the course start, to minimize paper usage. |
