12/12/2014 17:10:215I think it is just right. The current syllabus might be slightly tight to be finished in 5 days. Some times I need to stay longer each day to finish the lab/cover all the lectures. The course fills the gap of my knowledge in Embedded Linux development. Previously, I did project in this area, but it was for engineering purpose. I focused on making the project work without fully understanding the concept behind. After taking the course, I know the reasons of doing things that I have done before. This course is really good at making the concept clear5I like the idea of putting the materials online so I can be kept in the loop. The materials are in great details, with reference to other resources which I can try to explore further.5Mike is very knowledgeable. And he is very enthusiastic in answering all the technical (and non-technical :=)) questions. 5He expressed his view and understanding about the Linux/Open source community, funny stories, and technical experience. It did enrich the content of the course.5Nice city, nice hotel, nice food.54The registration fee looks a bit expensive. It might be ok with training funding, but guess not in other situations.55Closely related to my real-time embedded Linux development.64Kernel and driver development.5Lab materials and organisation. They help me to learn gradually.Trainer, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Language, Suggested by colleagueFree Electrons chosen by my managementBoard Support Package development: make Linux / Android support your new hardware, Real-time: implementation and bug fixing, Build environment deployment and supportHe is knowledgeable.55The labs go from basic to advanced. They helped us understand the concept by laying a good foundation. I like the bit that the labs did not list all the steps, they allowed us to explore a bit / look them up in the course materials. At the right level.32Could be a bit tight, especially if some one cannot do it quickly. From a foreign country

12/12/2014 17:23:2235 days is very appropriate.Excellent course with an excellent trainer. Minor improvement proposal: Spend 20 minutes at the beginning of the course and give an overview about the capabilities of the board. This could include some information about PIN muxing or JTAG in order to enable some new capabilities of the board, this allowsexploring additional functionality after the course. T5Getting the theoretical knowledge upfront was essential for the learning experience. the labs in combination are vital in order to fully understand5Would be glad to have this level of expertise :-) Impressive and i will recommend the course to colleagues and other companies55Good room and nice hotel. 5good 5fastest registration ever :-)5as a person who mainly worked with desktops and servers, this was excellent for me4Useful in order to better understand challenges of my team members. also helpful for the future when i will become more technical again.7Will recommend further without any hesitation4Kernel development5Practical exercisesGoing back to the hotel, because the course endedAvailability for on-site sessions, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Language, Hardware giveaway (public sessions only), Access to full feedback from participants to previous sessions, CostTechnical resources on the Free Electrons websitesee comment bleowThis will depend on my future job, but I will come back to free electrons if it is applicable. always available and helpful55Putting theoretical knowledge in action is vital. It really helps Not too difficult but you had to think and sometimes scratch the head. again, vital to really understand. Please don't change33good balanceFrom a foreign country

12/12/2014 17:34:37355454Starting from a blank ubuntu install has the advantages that everybody has the same start point. The disadvantage would be that the workflow (switching windows, copy paste, manual download) isn't very efficient...552it's a hobby63bit expensive4CostInternet search enginesBuild environment deployment and support55It's ok if labs are more complicated, keeps you sharp!33From a foreign country
