Note: the first session starts 15 minutes earlier in order to have enough time for everyone to test the audio/video setup and address any issue.

Quiz

Please take our quiz before the session starts. It should take you about 30 minutes to complete. We will submit it again at the end of the course. It allows Bootlin to assess your progress thanks to the course.

Training certificate

You will receive a training certificate from Bootlin if you meet the two following criteria:

1. Attended the complete course (all sessions, for their entire duration)
2. Achieved more than 50% of correct answers at the final evaluation.

It takes up to two weeks for the training certificate to be sent, after you successfully completed the quiz.

Please get your hands on an audio headset, with an included microphone. In order to improve the interaction during the course and help the trainer, we kindly ask you to keep your webcam turned on during the course.

Hardware accessories

The course being delivered online, the trainer will perform all practical labs as live demonstrations: it is not mandatory to purchase specific hardware accessories to follow the training course.

However, if you are interested in reproducing the practical labs by yourself, you will need the following hardware (not included in the cost of the course):

• A PC computer, with Ubuntu 20.04 installed, as a native installation. Other distributions or installations inside a virtual machine are not supported. They may work, but will not be supported by Bootlin's trainer. The PC should have a microSD card reader and at least 3 USB type-A receptacles.
• A BeagleBone Black or BeagleBone Black Wireless board.
• A Nunchuk joystick and its UEXT connector, as offered by Olimex.
• A USB to serial TTL cable with female endings, such as this one from Olimex
• A USB to serial TTL cable with male endings, such as this one from Olimex
• Four breadboard wires, such as these ones available from Olimex
• A microSD card

Please note that if you want to reproduce the practical labs by yourself, you need to schedule additional time, outside of the session hours.
